A few weeks ago, a group of us set out on a mission sparked by an idea from my coaching colleague Kristin Parsons. That idea quickly ignited a movement: over 200 coaches, entirely through word of mouth, signed up to offer free support to the Harris/Walz campaign’s front-line staff and volunteers. It was incredible to see such a rapid and enthusiastic response from the coaching community.
Although the campaign ultimately decided to focus their efforts on voter registration and turnout (click here to help!), especially in battleground states, this experience only reaffirmed a key truth: COACHING IS FOR EVERYONE! Campaigns are high-pressure environments with long days, nights, and weekends away from loved ones, where stress can run high and emotional resilience is tested. That’s where coaches can help—offering support, guidance, and the tools to help people manage stress, resolve conflicts, and stay motivated.
Coaches aren’t just for Silicon Valley executives or those with privilege. Many of us offer sliding scale rates, pro bono sessions, and other ways to make coaching accessible to anyone who needs it. This effort showed us that the next wave of critical support coaches can offer extends beyond the corporate world to those in high-stakes, emotionally demanding roles—whether they’re campaign staff, volunteers, front-line workers, or first responders.
While we as coaches proudly work with people from all political backgrounds, this particular election carries profound significance for many of us and the communities we serve. For many, it’s deeply personal. This election is about safeguarding the rights and futures of those we love—including women and girls, BIPOC individuals, and LGBTQ+ communities. It’s about ensuring that everyone, regardless of their identity or background, has the opportunity to thrive and that the hard-won progress toward equality and justice is protected and advanced. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and that’s why this moment is so important for those of us who believe in fighting for inclusion, equity, and opportunity for all.
A Word of Thanks
To the more than 200 coaches who stepped up and volunteered their time and talent: Thank You from the bottom of my heart. It was inspiring to see how quickly you mobilized in support of this cause. And to the core group of 10 individuals who dedicated extra time and creative energy to bringing this idea to life: your hard work and dedication made this initiative more than a whispered prayer, and I’m deeply grateful to each of you.
Like Kamala Harris herself, we were hustling to make magic happen and to show up for The People.
For the Front Line…
