With summer comes some time for reflection and considering what the second half of 2023 will look like. I had planned my week in a way that I would be busy, but also have adequate time to do some dreaming about the next 6 months. But as is often the case, life had other plans.
While I wanted to just sit and read magazines in the sunshine and consider topics that I find fascinating like the role of style in our confidence, my week got eaten up in little crises…a old cat that is sicker than I knew (chronic kidney disease), a mother who had a health scare followed by immediate surgery, and a friend who had an intense mental wellbeing crisis. These things quickly stole my focus from dreaming and led me to adjust my plans.
The good news is that I have that support system in place to help and can quickly reach out to get what I need in order to continue to serve those around me in the ways that they need me as well. It also reminded me that I have to always go back to the basics…rest, oxygen, water, and sunshine. And that in the absence of these basics, I will likely ride this car of life I’m driving off in the ditch and need to be towed out.
So I took the weekend to recharge…which is why this post is a day late. And I will use this week to do a bit of dreaming, a bit of healing work with loved ones, and a bit of boundary setting. If you need to set some boundaries and don’t know how, keep an eye on my blog (leahfarmer.com) and instagram (@leahfarmercoaching) this week and in the coming weeks.
Until next time…take care of yourselves!
