Last month I decided to do a little passion project celebrating inspiring women for International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. The project is me interviewing 32 women (from March 8th through April 8th) who inspire me with their stories and share them with my network and socials. I knew there would be some good stuff in these chats…because my friends are awesome.
Here’s what I didn’t count on…
I did not count on how each and every conversation would feed my soul.
I underestimated the richness of the conversations I would have with friends I haven’t spoken to in years
I did not full realize my impact on each of these ladies, nor their impact on me
I was unaware of how many of us have had to rebuild ourselves from the ground up after childhood or teen or young adult drama/trauma
I did not know that this would be the answer to my cry for community…that I was already part of one
As I reconnected with old friends, asked something of new friends, or begged my closest people to just let me record us having a chat…my heart grew two sizes bigger with love, empathy, compassion, and admiration for the stories of the women who have given me space
to walk along the road with them on our individual but joined journeys.
Sometimes…what starts out as one thing, simply becomes another. And for that I am so very grateful.
